Do your kids love collecting postcards as souvenirs when you travel? Do you struggle with finding a way to organize and preserve those memories? Look no further! In this article, we'll show you how to create a simple and affordable travel scrapbook for your kids in just five minutes. Not only will it keep their postcards safe, but it will also give them a fun and creative way to document their travels.

When traveling with kids, it's important to create memories that they will cherish for years to come. One way to do this is by encouraging them to collect postcards and write down their thoughts and experiences during the trip. However, postcards can easily get lost, ripped or bent, and it can be a challenge to keep them organized. That's where a travel scrapbook comes in handy.

Here's how to create a simple and affordable travel scrapbook for your kids:

Step 1: Gather your supplies

  • A little 4"x6" photo brag book with removable cover inserts

  • A Project Life theme card kit - I used Great Outdoors, but Adventure is fun too

  • Postcards, photos, and other mementos from your trip

  • Glue stick

  • Pen

  • Bakers twine (optional)

Step 2: Personalize the cover - Remove the front cover of the photo brag book, turn it over, and put it face to face with the back cover. This creates a double-layered cover for stability, and the back cover can be personalized with a design or message. Cut two pieces of cardstock to size and glue them to the cover for added durability.

Step 3: Layout the cards and photos - Use the Project Life cards to create a layout on each page of the scrapbook. The cards can be used as backgrounds or embellishments, and they come in a variety of designs and themes to suit your style. Slip the postcards and photos into the sleeves, and use the smaller 3"x4" cards to write down additional memories and notes.

Step 4: Add finishing touches - Use bakers twine or other decorations to add a special touch to the scrapbook. Encourage your kids to draw or write on the cards and pages to personalize it even more.

Creating a travel scrapbook for your kids is a fun and creative way to preserve their memories and encourage them to be more engaged in the trip. Not only is it easy and affordable, but it can also be a great way to spend some quality time together as a family. So next time you're on the road, grab some postcards and a photo brag book, and start creating your own travel scrapbook.

This book became the perfect little memory book for Austin and our latest camping trips. I used those smaller 3"x4" cards to write additional memories of the trip and I just slid them into the sleeve over a photo or postcard.
