9 easy swaps for eco-friendly camping
7. Traveling far SWAP for camping close to home - reduce carbon emissions by staying close to home. Instead of traveling across the country, stay within one tank of gas from home. Browse TripAdvisor boards, Roadtrippers, or YouTube to find places close to home that you may never have heard of. Or revisit a previous campsite during a different time of the year for a completely new experience.
Weekend RVing Meal Plan
Please tell me I’m not the only one interested in what everyone else is eating while they’re camping! I feel like we’re on a constant rotation of the same old thing. Maybe you need a few ideas? Lately, we’ve been utilizing our Blackstone and Instant Pot for most meals. With the summer heat, it’s nice to not heat up the camper with the stove or oven (except for spaghetti night).
Is summer 2020 cancelled? Not yet.
Summer is in full swing and we are excited about the return of the old-fashioned American Road Trip. In fact, we recently returned from our own multi-state RV road trip and it was fantastic. The best part is when you combine your road trip with camping it can be done with minimal investment and take you (nearly) anywhere you want to go. But as your plans begin to shift, take a look at camping. Truly, anyone CAN go camping and it doesn’t have to be in the dirt.
How I meal plan for our RVing trips
It’s never easy to decide on meals around here. Pinterest is my favorite place for fantastic camping meals and hacks. They’re all great, but can get a little redundant if you’re camping quite often like us, so today I’m sharing a few of my ideas and tips for successfully feeding all of your people. Full campers are happy campers.

KOA Care Camps Big Weekend
Every May KOA hosts this great event and it's open to anyone and everyone. The purpose of the weekend is to raise awareness about the KOA Care Camps for kids with cancer - a week where they get to go have fun and try to forget the burden of their illness. Most importantly it's also a weekend to raise funds for these camps. As part of the fundraising when you stay Friday night at a KOA paying full price you get to stay Saturday night for only $10 and that money goes directly to help the camps. It's a win-win for everyone!
